Mine were the first generation split pipes by Specialty Z. At the time they made the pipes, they were only welded on the inside and then ground down around the flange. Made for good flow but if you ever hit the bottom of the pipes on the road like speed bump's they were likely to crack. I ask Greg if this was normal (?) and yes it is with the old down pipes. The new pipes are welded the same but now they weld some short beads around the outside of the pipes. Much stronger, but still not recommended to hit your pipes on anything in the street, like I did. Now I am VERY CAREFUL not to hit them. The good thing was Greg was able to send the old pipes out for repair so I could still use them, (actually sold them). And of course they were made even better with the outside welds and new coating.
